HYDROCARE BROMAX

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Effervescent Sodium Bromide Tablets.
Bromax tablets facilitates production of sodium bromide solution on site.

APPLICATION

BROMAX is used as a disinfectant, sanitizer, slimicide, bactericide, algaecide and fungicide in the following applications:

Waste water treatment systems;

Re-circulating and once-through cooling water systems;

Evaporative condenser systems;

Sewage systems;

Heat exchanger systems;

Industrial processing water;

Pulp and paper mills;

Ornamental ponds and aquaria;

Swimming pools & SPAs

Influent systems and waste water systems for the control of aquatic environmental bacteria;

Slime forming algae; and

Bacteria, fungi and related odors.

BROMAX must be used in combination with an oxidizer such as sodium hypochlorite or any chlorine releasing agent such as Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate or Calcium Hypochlorite to produce hypobromous acid. Hypobromous acid controls bacteria and algae and oxidizes organics. Hypobromous acid is a weak acid and therefore not harmful to people. Bromine is not a strong enough oxidizer to oxidize or destroy ammonia and nitrogen compounds in the water.

Once hypobromous acid destroys bacteria, algae or other organisms, or is destroyed itself by sunlight it ends up as bromide ions. A strong oxidiser can "recharge" the bromide by oxidising it back into hypobromous acid. Chlorine does not have this ability, once chlorine is spent it cannot be reactivated like bromine.

The hypobromous acid combines with ammonia and nitrogen compounds in the water to form bromamines. Bromamines are active sanitizers, and they do not have the foulsmell of chloramines.

SAFETY AND HANDLING

Bromax tablets are safe to handle but solution would be a strong salt solution. Protective clothing, rubber gloves and eye protection are recommended. Rubber safety boots should also be worn in work areas, This product should be handled in areas with proper ventilation.

BROMAX tablets are white and weigh about 6 gm each.

Assay	One tablet would give 18000ppm NaBr / 14000ppm Bromine in one litre water
pH in 1 litre sol. :	6.5 to 7.5
